You know what I love about Apple’s Universal Clipboard? I can copy something on my Mac and paste it on my iPhone like I’m some kind of tech sorceress. Back in the day, moving stuff between devices was a whole production. I’d be emailing myself like, “Hey girl, here’s that cat meme you needed IMMEDIATELY.” Now I just copy on my laptop, open my phone, and—boom—it’s there! I feel powerful. I feel dangerous.

But sometimes that clipboard gets a little too universal. I’ll copy my shopping list on my iPad and accidentally paste it into an email to my boss. “Eggs, oat milk, double-stuffed Oreos.” Next thing I know, my boss is at Whole Foods texting me, “Did you want regular or vegan cheese?” Honestly, if Apple keeps this up, I’m letting my boss do all my groceries. That’s work-life balance.

Universal Clipboard – Copy & Paste Between Devices

Ever wish you could copy something on your Mac and paste it right onto your iPhone? With Universal Clipboard, you can. Copy text, images, or files on one Apple device, then paste them on another—no emailing, no extra steps.

  • Sign in to the same iCloud account on all your devices.
  • Turn on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
  • Keep your devices close together.

For example: Copy a photo on your iPad, then paste it into a message on your Mac. Or grab a link on your iPhone and drop it straight into a document on your MacBook.

Just copy as usual (Command+C on Mac, Copy on iPhone/iPad), switch devices, and paste (Command+V on Mac, tap Paste on iPhone/iPad). It feels a little bit like magic—and saves a lot of time. Universal Clipboard works in most apps, so give it a try next time you want to move something fast.
