Too many open apps—
Command-Tab, a gentle tap,
Finds the one you need.

Mac – Command-Tab App Switching

On your Mac, hold the Command (⌘) key and tap Tab to cycle quickly through all your open apps—no mouse or Dock required. It’s the fastest way to find what you need when your screen is crowded.

Clients often pause and smile when I switch between apps with a quick keystroke.
There’s always that moment: “Wait—what did you just do?”
Command-Tab is a small trick, but the delight it sparks is universal.

Pro Moves:

  • Keep holding Command and tap Tab repeatedly to move further along the app list.
  • Add Shift to go backwards (Command + Shift + Tab).
  • Want to close an app? While holding Command, tap Q to quit the highlighted app, or H to hide it.
  • For switching between windows of the same app, try Command + ` (tilde).
